But to reach just a decent level of Spanish fluency, where you could for example go to Mexico and get around just fine by yourself. Reaching that level does not take that long. You can easily reach a decent level of conversational fluency in 8 weeks if you study the right way.

This means that you have to learn from a Spanish teacher or Spanish course that focuses on real life conversation before grammar. Too many Spanish students send montsh and even years obsessing over the grammar, and never feeling confident enough to go to Spain and speak it, because they have not mastered every bit of grammar yet.
